The day
How it runs
Everything happens on the Wasing Estate, so once you are there you won't need to move a car again.

Getting to Wasing
The church
St Nicholas ChurchWasing Estate, Aldermaston
Reading, Berkshire RG7 4NG
Reception
Held on the estate, metres from the church. You walk straight across, so no need to move a car.
By car
About fifteen minutes from junction 12 of the M4 and twenty minutes from Newbury. There is parking on the estate, and you are welcome to leave a car overnight and collect it the next morning.
By train
Midgham is the nearest station, roughly ten minutes away by taxi. Newbury and Thatcham are both a little further but better served from London Paddington.
Flying in
Heathrow is about an hour by car. It is the easiest airport for anyone travelling from abroad.

In the village
The Hinds Head in Aldermaston has rooms and is only a few minutes from the estate. A good second option if the venue rooms have gone, and you get a proper pub breakfast out of it.
Further afield
Two worth a look. The Berkshire Arms at Midgham is the nearest, a pub with rooms a few minutes down the road and close to Midgham station. The Vineyard at Stockcross is the one if you want to make a weekend of it, around half an hour away, with a spa and a very good restaurant.
Beyond those, Newbury, Thatcham and Theale all have more choice within a twenty minute drive.
What to wear
Wedding formal
For the men, a suit and tie. No morning dress and no black tie, and no need to think about colour, wear whatever suits you.
For the women, a dress or a smart two-piece, and we would love you to wear a hat.
Two practical notes. The church is old and April in Berkshire is rarely warm, so bring a coat you are happy to be photographed in. And part of the day might be on grass, so consider your heels.
RSVP
Let us know
Please reply by date. One form per invitation is plenty, even if there are two of you.
Thank you. That's safely with us.
If you need to change anything, send the form again or email us and we will sort it out.
Questions
Things people ask
Can I bring a guest?
Your invitation names everyone we have space for. The church and the tables both have a hard limit, so if a name isn't on it we sadly can't squeeze another in.
Are children invited?
Children named on your invitation are very welcome. Otherwise we are keeping the day to adults, so please take it as a free evening rather than a snub.
What time should I actually arrive?
Aim to be at the church by half past one. The lane in is single track and it takes longer than you think to park and walk up.
Is the reception far from the church?
It is metres away, on the same estate. You walk straight from one to the other, so there is no transport laid on because none is needed.
Can I leave my car overnight?
Yes, and please do if you are drinking. Cars can be collected the following morning.
What if it rains?
It is April, so assume it will. Everything apart from the drinks has a roof over it, and we will move those indoors if we need to.
Confetti?
Please do not bring your own. We are providing all of it, and there will be baskets waiting outside the church for everyone to help themselves.
Can I take photographs during the ceremony?
No, please. Phones away and on silent for the ceremony itself. Once we are back outside, take as many as you like.
I have a dietary requirement, where do I put it?
In the RSVP form. Tell us anything at all and the kitchen will work around it.
Gifts
A note on gifts
Having you with us is the only thing we actually want, so please do not feel you have to bring anything.
If you would like to give something, we are putting money towards our honeymoon trip to Japan and a contribution would mean a great deal.
Our Prezola page is the easiest way to do it. A card on the day is just as welcome.
Thank you either way.
